Adolphus Grenfell Janes
April 1, 1938 – January 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Adolphus Janes announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on January 13, 2023 at the age of 84 years.

He leaves to mourn, his son Terry (Rhonda) Janes; daughters Roxanne (Daniel) Ryland and Nancy Janes; grandchildren Mark Ryland, Rebekah (Mitchell) Carter, Heidi Janes, Olivia Janes (Conrad Drover), Katie (Craig) Botham, Nicholas Pollett, and Alicia Pollett; great grandchildren Charlotte Carter, Triston Botham, Nora Botham, Amelia Carter; sisters Emma Sheppard, Mary (Harry) Reid, and Glenda (Terry) Tilley; sisters-in-law Elaine Janes, Yvonne Janes, and Georgie Burton; brother-in-law Jerry (Paulette) Locke; and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Adolphus was predeceased by his wife Susie; parents Arthur and Eva Janes; parents-in-law John Legge and Melinda Riggs; son-in-law Robert Pollett; sisters Flora White, Effie Woolridge, Lurley (Roy) Saunders, Barbara Jean Janes, Shirley (George) Gordon, and Nellie Locke; brothers Harold (Ruth) Janes, William Janes, Roy Janes; and brother-in-law William Sheppard.

A visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Monday, January 16, 2023 from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 20 Church Street, Deer Lake on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11 am. The funeral service livestream can be viewed on the Salvation Army Facebook page. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make a donation to the Salvation Army Citadel, Deer Lake in memory of Adolphus or donate to a charity of one’s choice.
