We are so sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing, glad I got to see and spent some time with him this summer, Erne spent a lot of time at our house in Nl when we were growing, he was quite a character as they would say, had a few laughs and heard a few lies, and a few stories he told about my Brothers and the adventures they were on, he will certainly be missed in the summer, rest in peace sweet man, now Dad can listen to your stories, and drink a few with you,

Q: What will you never forget about Ernie?
A: When I was in Cubs I had to build a wooden car out of a kit. I needed my Dads help, but he was out of the province working.
Uncle Ern never hesitated and helped me build the car. It was over 40 years ago and I will never forget it.

So heartbreaking to hear the sudden passing of cousin Ern,he was one of a kind,he had this way that once you meet him you’d never forget him,we always had a nice chat whenever we meet up and our last one was at Canadian Tire.He had a great sense of humour and often many got a belly ache from his stories..may God be with the family during the difficult days ahead ,He cherished you all and will be watching over you always ..Take care .Rest in Peace Cousin.

I first met Ernie and Fran many years ago when they lived in Toronto and reconnected after many years at my Dad's Summer home in Trout River. My Dad and Gertie loved when they came for a visit. In addition Ernie would call them every once on a while to check on them. My sincerest condolences to Fran and his entire family.

Loved Ernie . He was an uncle/ cousin. Our Dad Gerald was raised in his home. Earnie had lots of stories and laughs for us. He loved gardening and Berry picking. I guess that’s where I got it. Will miss him like lots of people.
