Ernie Lawrence Hann
December 5th, 1945 – March 28th, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernie Hann announces his sudden passing at his home on March 28th, 2023 at the age of 77.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, are his loving wife of 57 years, Frances (nee Galliott); his two beautiful daughters; Tammy (Mike Allen) and Melina (Daniel Murphy); precious grandchildren; Michaela, Megan, Connor and Cole; brother Israel Hann (Eileen), sisters Marketa Neilson and Elaine Chubbs (Warrick); sisters-in-law’s Thelma Williams (C.P.), Donna Carrigan (Robert); lifelong best friend Sonny Parsons; a large circle of nieces and nephews; as well as many beloved family, friends and coworkers.
Ernie is predeceased by his parents; Walter and Violet Hann, and, his mother and father-in-law; John and Olga Galliott.
Ernie was one of a kind. He was an intelligent man, who loved history and any good book. He was a skilled carpenter and avid outdoorsman. He spent much of his time at his family cabin in Trout River, where he made many wonderful memories with his family and friends. A place that will hold his memory for many years to come. Ernie shared so much love for his grandchildren who were his pride and joy and whom he was so proud of. He shared many stories and laughs with those around him, teaching so much to so many, and of course, always telling one exactly what he thought and what they needed to hear.
We as a family, were so lucky to have known such an incredible man and will be forever grateful for the time we were given with him and every memory we hold.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony for the family will take place in one of Ernie’s most favourite places, Chimney Cove, at a later date. Visitation will take place at Filtrates Funeral home, 218 Curling Street on Friday, March 31st from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
