Hubert Nadeau
October 18, 1937 – July 22, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Nadeau announce his passing on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Lourdes de Blanc Sablon at the age of 85 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Hercelia; son Todd (Joy); daughter Faye (George); grandchildren: Will, Thomas, Daniel and Lori-Lee; brother Murdoch (Gloria); as well as other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his mom Annie Fequet, father William Nadeau, daughter Lori-Lee, brothers Scott, Gerald, Dan, John and Rod, sisters Betty, Greta and Kathleen.
Hubert worked from a very young age and in multiple capacities. He had a collection of stories about his working life beginning usually with “working the shovel” in Scheferville, QC. He began work with the Hudson’s Bay Company in the late 1960’s and ended his career as the store manager and in time enjoyed some retirement years in his boat and on ski-do. Being helpful was something that he felt was part of being human. He always went the extra mile to help in the community from emergencies, to making sure Santa came to the store for the kids every year. Often described as a gentleman and forever remembered by his beloved family.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, St. Paul’s River on Sunday and Monday, from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Francie Keats officiating. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery (Whispering Angels). As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
