Mom and perry signing karaoke, with alex and dad in the back as the cheering section.I think we all played a little deaf that night, but as you see we had a wonderful Christmas dinner,family all gathered around the table seeing who could get the turkey wings.Great times had by all with wonderful memories we will cherish forever. ❤️

Every Christmas mom would make and send Vanessa (her granddaughter) shortbread cookies, this tradition went on for many years, last year she was unable to carry on the tradition, so Vanessa turned the tradition around and made and sent the cookies to her nanny, as you can see the picture mom enjoyed them to the fullest and refused to share ❤️

Mom and Dad always wanted to travel across Canada on the train, but never got the opportunity to make the trip. In 2018, as a tribute to Dad, we travelled to Toronto on the train with Mom to see the play Come From Away. It was a wonderful six days from the excellent service on the train to seeing the sites in Toronto then on to Niagara Falls. We had to hold her back from going on the zip line at Niagara Falls.
The highlights of the trip were the opportunity to see Come From Away and visit with Melvin and Rae and family in Mississauga. What a trip as a fitting tribute to Dad and Mom enjoyed every minute of it.

Marina was always game to try new things. On one of her visits to our home in Truro, her and I connived a plan to take her to the Halifax airport in our little red Miata. The only challenge was what to do with her bags. No problem she said, we will buy a bus ticket for Sandra, stick her on the bus, and she can take my bags while we drive in the Miata. We took the road less traveled on a trip she thoroughly enjoyed with the top down, sun shining, and the wind blowing in her silver hair.
We had some great times and adventures together. I will miss her adventurous spirit and her friendship but have many fond memories of our times together over the years.

How many times of late did Paul have to say “Marina I need to check the veracity of that word” it was mainly because he had been voted of the island by Mom for winning a game of Scrabble for the first time against her and me.
Mom was not fond of losing at her favorite game no matter who her opponent was! Over the years no visit home was complete until the Scrabble board was brought out. Mom even sucked Geoff into her Scrabble vortex but he was left in her dust as the words spilled out of her and she claimed the win.
Now playing with me was a different story, neither one of us were willing to lose and the games were fast and furious! Competition went to new heights.
If this old Scrabble board could talk, we would have some good laughs and maybe even our hair would stand on end as some “iffy” and debatable words were used.
As I place the tiles onto their bag one last time, I sigh and wonder if heaven has a Scrabble game.

To: Pauline, Sandra, Carol & Squires family ...
We were saddened for you, as we learned about the passing of your precious loved one.
However, at the same time we rejoice with you as we reflected on the truth of God’s Word, that promises, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
It’s wonderful to know that your mom, Marina will be remembered for her firm commitment to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She leaves with you today a wonderful legacy of Christlikeness and one who have, ‘fought the good fight, have kept the faith and have finished the course.’
Both Tracey and I, have so many fond memories of both your Mom and Dad. We will cherish our many visits to their home, our many conversations with them, their many words of encouragement, love and support to us and our ministry while being their Pastors at Zion Pentecostal. They always show us so much kindness and so much LOVE!
Today, your precious Mom has arrived at her heavenly home, what a joy to know that death is not the end, but the real beginning of life for her.
There is hope for the Child of God.
Please be assured of our thoughts and prayers at this time, praying that you may sense the presence, peace, and comfort of our Great Saviour, who have promised to “Never leave you or forsake you”
Hold fast to the many cherished memories, the great hope of Heaven and the promise that “the dead in Christ shall rise first and we who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet them in the clouds, to be with our Lord forever.”

This day,God sent his angels to escort a faithful saint, Marina Squires, to the beautiful shores of Heaven. The physical and painful struggles will be no more and with loved ones waiting for her on Heavens shore, there will be a reunion of friends and family past and acquaintances of new.
Marina has left a legacy for future generations to continue to shine a light because of her life's example.
