Marina Squires
Stephenville, NL
November 3, 1934 - November 19, 2023
Marina Squires, born on November 3, 1934, at the age of 89 peacefully departed this world on 19 November 2023 to be with her husband, Everett and our heavenly father.
Marina was the eldest child of Lewis and Maude Leawood of New Chelsea, Trinity Bay and big sister (Sis) to Marvin and Whitfield. She moved to Corner Brook at the age of fifteen when her family relocated. In this new chapter, she met and married the love of her life, Everett, with whom she shared the joy of raising their three daughters, Pauline (Paul Sinclair), Sandra (Paul McCabe) and Carol (Perry Bennett).
Devoted to her faith, Marina actively contributed to her church as a Choir member and served as the Women's Ministry President for a number of years. Her commitment to her spiritual community touched the lives of many.
Marina's family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her three grandchildren Geoffrey (Tara), Alexander (Brooke), Vanessa (Craig). Her adoration extended to her great-grandchildren, who were the source of immense happiness for her, Teagan, Eric and Olivia.
In her journey through life, Marina was not just a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother she was a pillar of strength, kindness, and faith. Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the positive impact she made on those fortunate enough to have known her.
To her “Little” brothers and to her number of nieces and nephew who surrounded her with love, Thank You. To her extended Squires family whose concern for her was heartfelt, we offer our gratitude. Her special friends and guardian angels from Silverwood Manor and the dear friendships that she experienced over the years helped make her life rich and rewarding.
To Carol and Perry words cannot express our gratitude for your unwavering love and support to mom (and Dad) over the years!
A family graveside internment will take place to celebrate her life on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Pentecostal Section, Stephenville.
