Joan and Family,
We are very saddened to hear of Victor’s passing.
While the years have past the memories are always near.
The wonderful hospitality on a visit to Churchill, which included a bone chilling caribou hunt, with an overnight stay in Victor’s homemade sled/camp.
The summer visits to Trepassey, which always seemed to include a barbecue and Victor’s chef salad!
Victor’s great laugh and ever-present smile.

Joan and Family
We are so heartbroken to have lost our life long Friend, Victor. Our friendship began in 1967 when we began working together, the friendship grew over the years and Vic and was like a brother to me! I watched his children grow to the beautiful individuals they are today, from the guidance and love that you gave them will always show a Big part of who you were! . Your Family was and will continue to be a part of mine, the door is always open. Our home is your home and we will always be here for each of you. We will miss the daily phone calls to keep us updated on any new news. Joan you have a Family that will take the Best Care of You in the days ahead! We are so sorry to hear of Vic's passing. He was such a wise, loving and kind hearted man. He will always be remembered.
We have so many wonderful memories of our overnight visits back and forth between Labrador City and Churchill Falls. We enjoyed many delicious meals at your place and no visit with us was complete without his usual visit or two to Tim Horton's.
The deacon's bench that he made for us still sits at our home entrance and is well used and loved.

He will be remembered by me and a lot more my age as the guy who not only brought the scouting movement to our tiny community but showed us how to live it .
For most kids the only times camping and a lot more was possible because of him . . The first two weeks he taught us how to sew … as big as his hands were , well we all learned together him included,I suppose . and he always made us sew on our own badges
. It was important we knew how to do basic things like that . He changed the outlook of an entire generation of boys in Cape Broyle and was one of the few who actually made a difference .

I first met Vic when I went to Churchill in 82 and we stayed in the bunk houses behind the 735. The following year we were upgraded to the staff house and we shared a washroom ( in the old section). We had some long chats and I thought of him as an uncle. I've got to many memories too choose, and talk about.
Over the years we spent in Churchill Falls. We always had a great time, whenever we met. He left a great impression on me and I will forever remember his kindness.
Joan you to hold some of my favorite memories of Churchill ( must have been our southern shore connections). To all of your family at friends I send my heart felt condolences. The world was a better place with Vic in it. Rest in Peace my good friend.

I am in total disbelief that my dear friend has crossed over to the other side but a beautiful angel you will be. I will miss you so much my friend. I had the pleasure of caring for Victor at the LTC since his first days at the home. There wasn’t a time that I walked into his room that it wasn’t either filled with the people he loved or pretty darn close. Victor you loved with your whole heart and it shows in everyone of your children, your beautiful wife and grandkids. Your birthday was my favourite, I remember sitting on A wing and watching every person walk by with smiling faces to come see you, let me tell you that day was like a revolving door of people who were there for you, I loved it! I loved that I reminded you so much of your granddaughter besides the part I just can’t sing like her, it gave you so much joy to speak about her beautiful voice and make your days so much brighter. I will miss you so much and will never forget you, I felt so special to be your “adopted look alike grand daughter”. I was sad when I arrived back I couldn’t joke with you like before. Losing you hits really close to my heart…love always your New Brunswick adopted granddaughter Brenda XO!
