I grew up knowing tall Kevin Hines all my life. I also worked with him at the Stephenville Crossing Vocational School. To enter the staff room, with Kevin there, was to be a part of information imparted with a strong sense of humour. Kevin and Louise made an amazing couple and I know they are missed in St. George’s. May the Good Lord bless them both and keep them in His tender care. Wishing the family peace and love.

Sorry to learn of Kevin’s passing. I knew him for over sixty years and always enjoyed talking with him. He was very intelligent and was usually well informed on current events and other issues too. He was straight forward and you always knew where he stood. I had the greatest respect for him and enjoyed our conversations.
I would occasionally run into him while out and about, shopping, etc., but haven’t seen him since covid. I am sorry for not attending his funeral but I only found out 1 Dec that he passed. I will remember him in prayer. Rest In Peace my friend.

Patti, John, Heather and Sandie, I am so saddened to read about the passing of your Dad. Running across the field as a child, I spent as much time at your house as I did at my own. We were all just one big family. We all went to each other's grandparents' houses around town to get the best home baked cookies, whenever we needed a snack. Life was simple and good. Your Dad was a pillar of the community volunteering wherever needed, as were all our parents. They set such good examples. I never ever heard anyone complain when they had to go out in the evenings to help our little town. 2023 has been a difficult year with so many great losses including my own, and as we go into the Christmas season, we take all the memories of our loved ones and hold them close. Terry's Uncle Kevin has passed , and we are both saddened.
We are sending sympathy, love, and hugs to the family.
Kevin made Terry's childhood very special.
He enrolled him in hockey and outfitted him with the proper gear.
He bought him basebal gloves, ball, and bat.
Terry loved the show "Palladin", just as I did. Kevin had the unique Palladin cards made up for him with the chess symbol on it. When I heard about this as an adult I was jealous, as I, too, had loved watching Paladin, but had no cards as a child.
On Saturday nights he would have Terry visit his house to watch hockey with him , and Louise would provide wonderful lunches...lots of turtles and chips.
Kevin spent many years visiting here at Terry's garage, when the guys all got together to work on projects, or just to chat.
Nephew and uncle had a very, very close bond.
All the guys who hung out at the garage loved having a yarn with him.
Indeed he was given his own chair with V.I.P. written on the back of it. When he arrived daily whoever was sitting in said chair had to give it to its owner. The V.I.P. chair has been retired, and will be hung on the wall.
The world was a better place because Kevin lived in it. He was a Giver, not a Taker , but when he left he took pieces of our hearts with him.....

To the Hines and McDonnell Families.\
We are so sorry to learn of Kevin's passing. We were in school together. Kevin was a grade ahead of me. but in a small town everyone one year your senior or one year younger are all friends. I remember when we were young walking in to the Dribble Falls to swim and trying to keep up with Kevin was a challenge as he had such a long stride. He was always kind, fun to be with and a good friend . He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your Families at this most difficult time. Sincere condolences.

The Hines Family
So sorry for your loss.
Kevin was a very special friend. During the years we worked together he always treated me as an equal, and I considered him a mentor. We shared a room during summer schools, and I really don’t think I would have gotten through the very difficult courses without his help.
He was a good and a very entertaining man.
He and your Mom were true family people. You all made them proud.
He will be missed by those who knew him.

I remember Kevin teaching us at Holy Infant School Seal Rocks Hill for a few days when one of the teachers went sick,he had long legs and would run from his home to the school,he was very young himself.
