The children of Kevin Hines announce the passing of their father on Monday, November 27^th, 2023.

He will be missed by Patti (Calvin), John, Heather (Jeff), Sandie (Kevin), grandchildren Lauren and Cameron, his sister Doreen in Dartmouth, and his brother Gary in Chilliwack. 

Kevin was predeceased by his wife Louise, his parents Susie and Norman, and his siblings Jean, Walter, Bill, Phonse, and Mike.

Thank you to everyone who kept in contact over the past year.  Dad’s wish was to remain at home which was made possible by very special home care workers: Linda Williams and Sylvia Lee.  We would also like to extend appreciation to the staff at the St. George’s Pharmacy, Ben’s Pharmacy, Reliable Ambulance Service, Alora White NP, and Shauna and Katie with Community Health Services. We were blessed with many visits from Father Maurice O’Quinn during Dad’s hospital stay.  Much gratitude goes the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in ALL departments and roles; we are grateful for your professionalism, your kindness, and your comfort in the time spent there.

There will be a joint celebration for Dad and Mom (Kevin and Louise) at the Royal Canadian Legion in St. George’s following the funeral mass.  Everyone is welcome!

No flowers please.  If you would like to remember Dad, donations to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation in his memory will be gratefully accepted. Donations may be dropped off at the Foundation Office or e-transfers are accepted through strhfdn@gmail.com.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 between the hours of 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, West St., Stephenville Crossing, NL.  The Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, St. George's with Father Edmund Dantes officiating.  Inurnment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Courthouse Rd., St. George’s, NL will take place following the service.
