Obituary of Albert Lloyd Anstey
Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Albert (Lloyd) Anstey, aged 87, on December 8, 2023. Dad was predeceased by parents, Dora and Norman, wife Eleanor, daughter Pauline and Siblings Ronald, Steven, Eric, Donna and very recently his brother Robert. Survived to celebrate his life is his daughter Valerie Power (Kevin), son Darryl (Barbara), son in law Ian Hutchinson, sister Joan, brothers Alfred (Anne), Gilbert (Judy) as well as his pride and joys, his grandchildren Mark Hutchinson (Whitney and their new baby Eleanor), Jennifer Hutchinson, Sarah Anstey, Nicholas Anstey (Mike), Keenon Power and Cecilia Power, as well as many other relatives and friends; especially his dear friend Chris Mullins.
Dad loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, cross country skier, etc., and his ultimate place of happiness was at his cabin in Big Bonne Bay Pond. It is there that he instilled in his children the love of nature and protecting the environment.
We would like to thank the staff at Lohnes Complex for taking good care of dad for the past several years, the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, especially the staff on 4A/B and the palliative care unit for being with him when he drew his last breath. It means the world to us.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to either the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
