I remember Bandmaster Garfield Thomas from his days as bandmaster of Coventry City Band in the late 1950’s. Not able to get to my home corps (Nuneaton) band practice I used to go to Coventry band practice along with the late David Greig after our evening class at Coventry Technical College. Those were the days before the new hall in Well Street. That experience will always remain in my memory.
