<p><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garfield Thomas announce his passing on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 85 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Daphne of 56 years; children: Peggy Crocker (Gordon) and Brian Thomas (Betty); grandchildren: Stacy, Scott (Tiffany), Stephen (Trina) and Heather (Kevin); great-grandchildren: James, Makayla, Callie, Ryder, Aubree, Isaiah and Cooper; brothers and sisters: Melvin (Selma), Wally, Joan Wiseman (Roy) and Renee Penney (Frank); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Tryphena, sister Geraldine, brothers Clyde and Maxwell, half sisters Josie Butt and Joyce Wheeler. Friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 &amp; 7-9 p.m. and Monday 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Majors Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel or the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
