Calvin used to come to my father’s house when I was a child and was a very good friend and former brother-in-law. I remember Calvin as very kind, considerate and always a happy man. Calvin attended my dad’s funeral and we really appreciated it. I hope your memories of him will help you all through the coming days and years. I have all great memories. God bless you all.

I Received a Phone Call from my Good Friend Pamela Heath(Chafe) 19/12/2018 That Another Good Friend & Senior Band Mate from a Lot of Years Ago Had Passed Away. I Worked with Cal When He Had His Small Furniture Business on Broadway in Corner Brook, NL. and Played in The Salvation Army Citadel Senior Band with Him for Just about 7 Years. He was a Pleasure To be Around, Always Having The Big Smile and Very Positive Attitude. Cal was One of Those Small Group of People That You Always Think About Even Though a Whole Lot of Years Have Passed. The Last Time I Seen Him and Harriet was in 1975 When My Parents and I Left Corner Brook.
Cal was a People Person and I Have No Doubt That He Put a Whole Lot of Smiles on People's Faces Wherever He Went. Cal was an Incredible Human Being, So Kind, So Caring, So Thoughtful and Very Funny with The Dry Jokes. I Will Never Forget Him. My Family and Myself Thinking of Harriet and Cal's Family at This Time of Great Loss. He Made The World a Better Place. GODSPEED.

To: Harriett & The Hillyard Family
Today we are saddened at the news of Major Calvin’s passing that he is no longer with us here on earth, but yet we have much to rejoice about because he has been promoted to Glory, and that is a very high promotion for those who trust in the Lord Jesus as Major Calvin had.
We created beautiful memories of Major Calvin during our five year stay at Corner Brook Citadel. He was very encouraging as well as a spiritual mentor to us in our ministry at the Corps. Please be assured of our continued prayers during these very difficult days.
In Christ we have a glorious hope that to be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord. May you be encouraged in these promises today.

I am sad to hear of Calvin’s passing. A wonderful man whom I have known since I was a little girl. We lived on the same street and attended the same church. Our paths crossed in Ministry one summer in the Peterview Corps and we've been friends ever since.
What a great man of God!

We met Mr. Hillyard many years ago though the minor hockey program. A sweeter more gentle soul we have never met. Death is never easy but remembering the good times make it bearable.
