Leah lived a great life full of adventures: she left home at the age of sixteen to work as a nurse, where she assisted in bringing children into the world. Leah also went to Goose Bay where she worked at the Base in the kitchen. From this, Leah moved to Springdale to raise her family and become a loving mother. She worked as a cook in Labrador where she was made famous for making her homemade bread. From this, she went to Jackson's Arm to work in the Crab Plant. Leah then returned home to Port Au Choix where she went to work at Schwartz Clothing Store with her sister Vivian and two nieces Marie and Jocelyn. Leah always worked hard and ensured her family was taken care of. Leah always had an admiration for flowers and her garden. She loved to cook, bake, have a scuff, and play bingo.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
Special thanks to the staff at Kingsway Living Retirement Home in Springdale for the love and care shown to Leah during her stay and Dr Todd Young for his continuous compassion.
