Tertius Piercey 1924-2020 Corner Brook It is with great sadness that the family of Tertius Piercey announces his passing on Thursday April 16, 2020 after a brief illness at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 96th year. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Olive Hefford, Stanley (Thelma), Pamela (Marilyn); cherished grandfather to 6 grandchildren: Derek Hefford (Joanne), Susan McCulloch (Tony), Nicole Shannon (Jeffrey), Nancy Sooley (Steve), Richard Piercey and Andrew Piercey (Melodie); proud Poppy Terse to 9 great grandchildren: Leah & Alex Smith, Brady Griffin-Hefford, Madison Snook, Kayla Shannon, Ella & Katy Sooley, Wesley Tertius & Fiona Piercey;. As well he will be remembered by his sister-in-law Dorothy Piercey, brothers-in-law Clayton Pink and Kenneth Pink (Harriett Ann) nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends at Mountainview Estates Retirement Home. Predeceased by his wife Susie, son-in-law Derek Hefford, parents Harriett & Richard Piercey, siblings Wilson, Montford (Adeline), Dorothy (Silas), Emily (Greg), Richard, Olive (Bert) and sister-in-law Edna Durnford (Bill). Special thank you to Dr. O’Driscoll, the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, the Management and Staff of Mountainview Estates Retirement Home where he was a resident for 15 years, and good friend Mary Gardner. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a private family viewing and burial. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
