Dear Gary, Bernice and all the families, it’s with shock and sadness I send this condolence for Sherry. The news that she had passed still feels like a bad dream. I worked with Sherry at VON and always felt that Western Memorial’s loss was our gain. She came to us with a smile on her face and a willingness to be a team player. As I got to know Sherry better her love of family and friends was evident, she would share a story or picture of her family (I felt like I knew Liam and Zachary). Sherry contributed in any way she could and no matter what program she was working on she always gave it her all.
Of course both Sherry and Gary loved the craft fairs and after I retired I ran into them both several times at a fair, always with a smile and a catch up chat as they served their customers. The last time I chatted with Sherry and Gary we were outside the Irving in Pasadena and we must have chatted for an hour in the blazing sun and heat, it was good to catch up. Life is so fragile and we’ve lost a bright light. To Gary, Bernice and all her family and friends, Alvin and I extend sincere sympathy. Rest In Peace Sherry, you did make a difference in a positive way to those around you, you will be missed. Sherry was a much loved member of our Friday night group. Endearing, funny, friendly , compassionate and a joy to be around. Her passing was a shock to all of us. Our hearts are broken and we find it difficult to accept but accept it we must. Please know that she was loved and her life was a life well lived.
