To the Verge Family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy. Mr Verge was a customer of mine for many years at the barber shop and I always looked forward to our many wonderful conversations. In later years I continued to service his barbering needs at his home and at the Long Term Care Facility. I truly feel blessed to have known him and having the pleasure of being his barber for all these years. He was a gentlemen of the finest kind and will surely be missed. Cherish the memories.

It was a great pleasure to reconnect with Mr. Verge while he and my dad resided together at the end of their lives. He is remembered in so many fine ways. Being so alert allowed for great conversations and pleasant moments sitting and listening to his stories. As a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed. We wish all the family sincere condolences as the passing sets in. May all the very fond memories of your loved one comfort you now and in the days to come. He will surely not be forgotten and his legacy lives on in all of you.

To the Verge Family,
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Ches. We have many fond memories of him and we got to know him quite well when we would come for the summer to visit our Dad, Bob Grant. Dad and Ches became fast friends and great card partners. Dad and Ches also held a special bond as they were both proud veterans of the 166th Newfoundland Field Regiment of Royal Artillery. We got to play cards a few times with Ches and Dad. Ches would always have Eleanor as a partner at 120s and Dad got stuck with me. We were very happy that Ches made it to Dad's 100th birthday last summer. We will always hold Ches in a Special Place in our hearts as he was by Dad's side as he left this world on May 22nd of this year. We would like to believe and we do believe that Dad was in a special way with Ches as he passed, one comrade helping another to go to a better place. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them".

What a class act all around I am so happy to have gotten pictures of my son, he and Mr. Bob Grant this past November 11th at the Remembrance ceremony at LTC. I will cherish those photos forever and feel even more privileged to have known him. My condolences to all his family

Linda, Lana, Lorna, Joanne and the extended Verge families:
Saddened to learn of your father\s passing. It was only a couple of days ago I was telling Linda how I saw him a couple of weeks ago going down O"Connell Drive on his scooter. He had a full and wonderful life with the love of his family surrounding him. He had a very positive attitude and always had a smile. Lots of good memories!.

Saddened & surprised to hear of your Dad’s passing. Only saw him about a week ago heading down Mt. Bernard on his motorized vehicle .Mr. Verge could be seen anywhere at any time , out for a ride.
We got to know and enjoy many chats over the years at the veterans unit while visiting Uncle Bob. Many a good cards games enjoyed by them both . Two dear men shared a great friendship & lots of memories.
Your dad was a gentleman and loved all his girls & families.
The love & devotion you all shared was obvious.
It’s hard saying good bye to someone who was easy to love.
