Barbara Ann Christopher Corner Brook, NL June 24, 1954 – August 29, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barbara Christopher announce her passing on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care unit at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn are her siblings: Linda Tarbett, Marie (Bruce) Mitchell, Paul (Jocelyn), Ray (Theresa), John (Martha) of Wolfville, NS, aunts: Ettie Stratton and Doris Parsons; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Christopher and brother-in-law Edward Tarbett. Barb had several successful careers, the first being in the Military for twenty years, then back to University completing an MA (Sports, Recreation and Administration) with a focus on Gerontology, which led to a career in long term care and then the Canadian Hearing Society. She had a passion for helping senior citizens, especially those with dementia. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, with a private family funeral service to be held on Tuesday, September 1st from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, Monsignor Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Parish or to the charity of one’s choice.
